Herbs and spices are plant products that are used mainly to add flavor or an appetizing aroma to foods.

There is small difference between herbs & spices. Herbs are the fragrant leaves of plants grown mainly in temperate (mild) climates, whereas spices are generally more strongly flavored than herbs. Spices come from aromatic plants that grow mainly in the tropics.
